In 1997, the Chicago Bulls faced off against the Utah Jazz in the NBA Finals. In Game 5, Michael Jordan has been overwhelmed with sickness due to flu like symptoms he was experiencing and the team didn't think he'd be able to play through it. MJ being MJ, he managed to pull of one of his greatest games scoring 38 points in their victory while wearing the Air Jordan 12 Black and Red which were then dubbed The Flu Games. The back detail of the shoe displays a "97/38" print with a sick face inbetween to emphasize the Jordan mentality.
